SPLASH is an interactive app - based shower monitoring system built to combat the water wastage in hostels due to excessive shower water usage by students which also protects them from bathing in much too hot waters during winters which seerely damages their hair and skin

In our project we implemented a circuit consisting of a shower connected to a flow sensor, temperature sensor, PIR sensor , solenoid valve all powered by an arduino UNO. This is connected to our custom app made using MIT APP INVENTOR through an HC-05 bluetooth module. The user can login into the app using their college credentials and can choose 2 types of showering options-
1. Long Shower (2 times weekly) -112 litres
2. Short Shower( 7 times weekly) - 65 litres

The app shows the user the data of the amount of water used and the water temperature in the app screen and also sets off an alarm warning the user of high temperatures. An alarm is also set for when the user exceeds a certain water usage limit. Even if the user doesn`t stop bathing after this, the shower water supply is simply cut-off.

However yet the most important aspect of the showering system is that it assigns credits to the student for saving water which can later be used to buy free mess food. In this way the college provides an incentive to the students to save water. The students data of credits and water consumption can be accessed in the credits window of the app.
